Lisette Collins (Principal Ecologist)

An experienced Ecologist with specialist skills in freshwater fish is available to undertake fish surveys and provide expert advice on freshwater fish and their habitats. 

Northland Ecology works throughout Northland, Auckland, Waikato, Bay of Plenty and regions to the south.

An experienced practitioner is available to advise on methods for controlling pest animals (stoats, rats, and possums) to enhance communities of native plants, birds, insects and lizards.  He is also a competent Field Ecologist and is available to assist the Principal Ecologist with surveys of large, complicated or remote sites.

Lisette is an experienced, professional ecologist who holds a  B.Sc and M.Sc. (with Honours) from the University of Waikato. She began her career working in central government and local government and has been a consultant in the private sector for fourteen years.
 

Lisette has strong technical and field skills in ecology, botany, monitoring and surveys of vegetation and fauna.  She is familiar with a full range of habitats, including forests, wetlands, estuaries, coastal dunes and riparian areas. 

 

She takes pride in providing clear, accurate, objective reports that fulfil the project brief and meet deadlines.


Lisette has prepared Assessments of Ecological Effects for subdivisions, major roading projects, quarries and power supply routes and has regularly appeared as an expert witness.  She works with individual landowners, developers, engineers, surveyors, planners and councils, and within project teams for large proposals.
